One of our recent projects for Norwich City Council was the soft landscaping scheme at Hay Hill, right in the heart of Norwich city centre. The project included the installation of high-quality planting, feature planters and an integrated irrigation system designed to help the new planting establish successfully.
Delivering the Project in a Busy City Centre
With thousands of people passing through the area every day, the work had to be carefully planned and delivered with minimal disruption to businesses, residents and visitors.
Since completing the installation, we’ve continued to maintain the planting, with a particular focus on keeping the scheme looking its best through the warmer months. During periods of hot and dry weather, effective irrigation becomes essential to maintaining healthy, vibrant planting.
The integrated irrigation system provides water directly where it’s needed, but it still requires regular monitoring and adjustment. Our team carries out routine inspections to ensure the system is operating correctly, making seasonal adjustments where required and quickly resolving any issues that arise.
Alongside irrigation management, our maintenance visits include, weed control, plant health checks and replacing any plants that fail to establish. This proactive approach helps keep the planting healthy and colourful throughout the summer, even during prolonged dry spells.
Projects like Hay Hill show that creating an attractive landscape doesn’t end when the planting goes in. Ongoing care, attention and practical maintenance are what ensure public spaces continue to thrive long after the project is complete.
